Stansted isn’t often the airport of choice when flying into London, as the likes of Heathrow have more flight options; while London City Airport has better transport links much closer to the city centre, but Stansted is a great little airport - with good transport links to the city and nice flight options for budget travellers.

You’ll find that the airport is mostly served by the likes of Ryanair, Easyjet, Thompson Airways and Air Berlin, all offering great budget flight choices between London and destinations like Palermo, Pisa and Perugia in Italy, Paphos in Cyprus, Plovdiv in Bulgaria, Nuremberg, Berlin and Leipzig in Germany, Antalya and Bodrum in Turkey and many more. The best way to get between Stansted and the city is by road and you’ll find that the route is nice and easy - just take the M11 motorway and follow the signs for the airport. if you’re flying in to Stansted then you’ll no doubt want to arrange any car hire for your journey before you reach the airport, as the desks are often full and can see you stuck at the airport for hours waiting in queues on busier days. Use a comparison service for Stansted airport such as Car Rentals Network to ensure you get the cheapest car rental deals available and the shortest wait at the airport.

The airport itself has all the modern conveniences you would expect, including shops like Boots, Spar and Dixons travel, as well as Luxury stores like Mulberry, and a nice selection of cafe’s and restaurants from the likes of Costa coffee, Burger King, Starbuck’s and The Windmill restaurant. As well as all this, you’ll also find souvenir shops, internet kiosks and tourist information kiosks.
